SIR Epidemic Model — Interactive Demo

Demonstrating epidemic dynamics: the SIR model shows how diseases spread through a population. Use the slider to adjust intervention effectiveness (e.g., masks, distancing, lockdowns) and watch the infection curve flatten.

The three curves represent: Susceptible (blue) — people who can catch the disease; Infected (red) — people currently sick and spreading it; Recovered (green) — people who have immunity and can no longer be infected.

Line chart showing Susceptible, Infected, and Recovered populations over time; slider controls intervention effectiveness from 0 to 100 percent.
